HTSI was honored with the 9th National Industrial Innovation Awards, presented by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). This recognition underscores HTSI’s strong R&D capabilities and its contributions in the field of semiconductor testing.
TOrganized by the MOEA, the National Industrial Innovation Awards celebrate outstanding contributions to advancing industrial innovation and policy. Selected from over 300 submissions, HTSI distinguished itself through its sustained commitment to technological advancement. “HTSI has been deeply engaged in wafer probing for years, continually investing in independent R&D and local innovation,” said HTSI vice president Eric Hsu. “Our award-winning breakthrough addresses the increasing complexity of chip design, enabling broader applications and injecting new momentum into the industry. Moving forward, we’ll continue to draw on market insights to drive technological progress and remain a trusted partner to our customers.”
The winning innovation, the “Probing System for Discrete Wafer” was developed in response to growing demand for next-generation MEMS wafer testing solutions. The project began with extensive on-site assessments, thorough data analysis, and rigorous problem-solving, culminating in a highly accurate and stable testing architecture. Unlike traditional wafer testing systems, this solution features a novel combination of micro-motion mechanisms and an upward-probing design. This innovation overcomes long-standing limitations, enabling fully automated, high-precision testing on suspended wafer structures. It not only improves test yields significantly but also introduces a new perspective in semiconductor test design.
The Probing System for Discrete Wafer has been granted invention patents in both Taiwan and the United States and has successfully penetrated global markets. In addition, the technology also earned HTSI the Excellent Performance Award from a leading international foundry, positioning the company among a select group of suppliers capable of delivering integrated solutions starting from the equipment level.
